Use a suitable image as a visual reference for your survey. Numbered pins connect notes with the places you inspected, while clear statuses help you distinguish findings that need action.
Start with a suitable photo, screenshot, diagram, map image or floorplan image as your survey base.
Place and move numbered pins to connect each observation with a location on the image.
Record a title, description, date and surveyor initials so each observation has useful context.
Use red for action required and green for satisfactory to make findings easier to review.
Adjust pin sizes to keep numbers readable without obscuring the image.
Attach up to two photographs to each pin from your iPhone camera or photo library to show the finding and its surroundings.
Highlight details on photographs using a freehand pen, arrows and circles or ellipses, with a choice of colours. Saved markings become part of the photograph used in the report.

Local surveys and manual backups
Survey records and photographs are stored locally on your device. Keep your own backup copies and choose how to share exported files. Creating, editing and importing surveys require active subscription access. Initial activation, purchases and restoring purchases need a connection; offline editing depends on verified subscription access and may require you to reconnect.
Local and user-controlled
- Keep surveys and photographs locally on your device, with no AnyPin account or automatic cloud backup or synchronisation.
- Export one selected project or all projects as a manual backup, and keep copies somewhere you control.
- Import compatible backups as additional projects; existing projects are not silently overwritten.
- Transfer exported files through a file-sharing method you choose. Transfers are manual rather than live collaboration.
- Protect an exported backup with optional encryption and a six-character access code. This protects the exported file; it does not encrypt all app storage.
- Control when reports and backups leave your device by choosing when and how to share them.
Backup support note: Import a compatible backup through the app’s import controls. Existing projects remain in place; projects with matching identifiers are imported as copies.
