Pin-Apps privacy notice

Status: Privacy notice

Effective date: 2 August 2026

This privacy notice covers both the Pin-Apps website and the AnyPin application. The website and application use data differently, so their privacy information is separated below.

Website privacyAnyPin app privacy

Pin-Apps website privacy

This section applies when someone visits the Pin-Apps website.

Website analytics

The Pin-Apps website uses a privacy-focused website analytics service to understand how the website is used and to improve its pages, navigation and content. Aggregated analytics information may include:

  • pages visited;
  • referring pages;
  • approximate geographic region;
  • browser type;
  • operating system; and
  • device type.

The website analytics service applies only to visits to the Pin-Apps website. It is not part of the AnyPin application and does not receive AnyPin survey records, project details, photographs, report files or backup files.

Cookies and tracking

The website analytics service is designed to operate without analytics cookies or persistent cross-site identifiers. Pin-Apps does not use this service to create individual advertising profiles or track visitors across unrelated websites.

IP addresses and aggregated reporting

Our analytics provider states that the website analytics service does not retain visitors’ IP addresses. Analytics information is used to provide anonymous or aggregated website-usage statistics rather than to identify individual visitors.

Purpose

Pin-Apps uses website analytics to:

  • understand which pages are used;
  • identify technical or usability problems;
  • improve website content and navigation;
  • measure general interest in Pin-Apps products; and
  • help maintain website security and reliability.

Legal basis

Where UK data-protection law applies, Pin-Apps relies on its legitimate interests in operating, securing and improving the website, balanced against the limited and privacy-focused nature of the analytics information collected.

Hosting and analytics services

Pin-Apps uses a third-party hosting and analytics provider to host the website and produce aggregated website-usage statistics. The provider processes information on behalf of Pin-Apps for these limited purposes.

Further information about the categories of service providers used by Pin-Apps is available by contacting Pin-Apps using the details at the end of this notice.

Website retention

Website analytics retention is governed by the service plan and settings used by Pin-Apps with its hosting and analytics provider. Pin-Apps does not separately extend the provider’s analytics-retention period.

International processing

Our hosting and analytics provider may process limited website analytics information outside the United Kingdom. Where required by applicable data-protection law, international processing is subject to appropriate contractual or legal safeguards.

Website user choices

Visitors may use browser privacy controls, tracking-protection features and content-blocking tools. These controls may affect how the website operates.

AnyPin app privacy

This section applies to the AnyPin application. It does not describe website analytics.

Information AnyPin handles

AnyPin may handle information entered by the user, including:

  • project details;
  • client details;
  • building and survey details;
  • pin records;
  • observations;
  • photographs;
  • recommendations;
  • comments;
  • status information;
  • surveyor information; and
  • survey dates.

Local data and files

Survey data, photographs and report files may be stored locally on the user’s device. Users are responsible for protecting their devices and deleting local surveys or files when they are no longer required.

AnyPin does not send survey records, photographs, project information, report files or backup files to the website analytics service.

Device permissions

AnyPin may request camera, photo-library and file permissions to allow users to:

  • capture photographs;
  • select images;
  • create survey records;
  • generate reports; and
  • export or import backup files.

Permission choices remain under the user’s control.

Local backups and transfers

Users may export a local backup, transfer it manually by email or another file-sharing service, and import it on another supported device. AnyPin does not automatically upload or transfer those backup files. Files can leave the device when a user chooses to share them, and the selected third-party service may handle them under its own terms.

Support enquiries

Users who voluntarily contact support may provide contact information, device information, the app version, survey context, fault details and message content. Support enquiries are separate from website analytics.

App retention and deletion

  • Local survey retention depends on user action and device settings.
  • Users can delete local survey data and files from their device.
  • Backup files remain wherever the user has chosen to store or transfer them.
  • Support enquiry information may be retained as reasonably necessary to respond and resolve problems.

Security limitations

Reasonable safeguards are used, but no storage or transfer method can be guaranteed completely secure. This notice does not claim end-to-end encryption, formal GDPR certification, regulatory approval or that data can never leave the device when a user manually shares files.

Children’s privacy

AnyPin is intended for professional survey, inspection and evidence-recording workflows and is not directed at children.

Privacy rights

Where UK data-protection law applies, individuals may have rights relating to access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection and data portability where applicable. Some rights may not apply where Pin-Apps does not hold identifiable information about the person. Pin-Apps cannot retrieve AnyPin survey data stored only on a user’s device.

Complaints

Individuals may raise a concern with Pin-Apps at support@pin-apps.com. Where applicable, they may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.

This notice may be updated when:

  • website services change;
  • analytics practices change;
  • AnyPin features change; or
  • legal or regulatory requirements change.
